Guitar Hero III: The Worst One Yet
I really hate to say it because I was very much looking forward to Guitar Hero III – unfortunately I was taken in by marketing. Yes, the game has over 70 songs. Only 42 are on the set list, the other 30+ are bonus songs, which is a polite way of saying “You weren’t a good enough song to make it into the set list”. That’s exactly how good the bonus songs are: not really worth it.
Overall, this game has been a vast disappointment. The most glaring difference is the graphics. They’re horrible compared to Guitar Hero II. Xavier Stone now looks like a cartoony pimp from the 70s instead of the cool, guitar god look he had previously.
Here’s some tips on making Guitar Hero the game it should be.
- Put good songs in it. This set list is BY FAR the worst of all the versions. Of course, this is my personal opinion, but there are only 6 or 7 really good songs
- Make the game better, not harder. Seriously, the reason Guitar Hero was such a smash hit is because it was fun to play. You got to play all the songs you wish you could play if you had grown up a guitar legend without it being too hard. Every iteration of the game so far has simply made it harder to play the songs.
- Get rid of the ridiculous storyline… who cares?
- Put more of the challenges in the next game. That’s the one addition to the game that’s actually good.
- Make the graphics better next time instead of worse.
- Put good songs in it.
- Lastly, put good songs in it.

An episode that they could have had a lot of fun with… but it ended up being boring, which is rare for that show.
Not to be a pill, but what was good about the other ones?
I dont understand games about things you can do in reality without consequences. I cant wait for “do the dishes hero” and “go for a walk outside hero”.
The first was good because it was fun.
the first one was fun. I haven’t bothered with 3, but I did pick up Rock Band, which is basically GH with microphone, guitar, base and drums. It is so much fun and really great original masters music. Can’t say enough about rock band.

How i can put my own songs in GH III on PC ??
If you don’t like the story mode then play the game in Quick Play mode. I would prefer to see some freaking effort put into making the Career mode much more entertaining to play instead of just adding a couple of well-known faces and a lame battle mode gameplay mechanic that it looks like it may have taken less than someone’s lunch break to develop. A more robust career mode just makes sense as this mode is, in effect, the aorta of the game when you consider that over 80% of the songs must be first unlocked via the Career mode. The entire game would be greatly enhanced as the multplayer modes would have more cool things to make use of by incorporating any of the new wrinkles added to career mode.
To ‘Porn’: What the fuck does learning to play guitar have to do with a game where you hold down skittle-colored buttons and flip a switch? Stop comparing Guitar Hero to playing a real guitar, retard. It’s like telling someone who plays Tetris ‘Why’s everyone afraid to go out and stack blocks?’
okay. you obviously have terrible taste in music. i bet the six or seven songs you liked were like disturbed and slipknot and metallica. and the bonus songs are some of the funnest in the game! like the fall of troy and rise against songs. wow way to suck.
hey, well i read this and kinda laughed about it. you need to think of better ideads on why the game sucked.. they put those songs in there becuase more of the younger crowed play the game.. “the not god enough songs to make the set list” i find are all actually really good and so do all the kids that i live with in my hall.. yes theres a few bad ones but g hero 2 set list blew. g hero one couldnt hit a hammer on.. and you have to realize it wasnt made buy the same comepany as g hero 2 or 1 becuase it was bought out.. by activision i believe.. yeah your reasons blow.. and the graphics are way damn better with the blue ray on ps3.. it makes it alot crisper. but you prolly suck at the game jack off ever day and are about gay as fuck so go have a nice day.
